The Hoop Lab - Design your very own 1 of 1 custom hoop

Welcome to The Hoop Lab – this is where we turn your idea into a fully custom, game-ready mini hoop.

Every hoop starts from scratch: a solid wood backboard, cut, sanded, and painted by hand. No templates, no mass production. Just a one-of-a-kind design built for you (or your kid, team, man cave, office, or locker room).

What goes into your custom hoop

• Hand-built backboard – Solid wood, cut and sanded smooth, typically around 23”x 16" or 16” x 12”(can be adjusted on request).
• Custom paint job – Your choice of colors, team/theme, logos, numbers, names, phrases, and/or splatter art style.
• Layout & design – I sketch the layout, balance the colors, and plan where logos, text, and details go so it looks clean and intentional.
• Detail work – Outlines, shadows, highlights, silhouettes, jersey numbers, and any special touches that make it feel like you.
• Protective finish – Clear coat / seal to help protect the art so it can actually be played on, not just hang on the wall.
• Hoop + net – Break-away style mini rim with net mounted to the backboard.
• Mounting style – Over-the-door or wall-mount options available (let me know which you prefer when you email your specs).

Every piece is built to be both art and hoop – something that looks amazing on the wall but can still handle real shots.

How The Hoop Lab works

1. Place your order here on the site.
2. Email me your custom specs (see checklist below).
3. I’ll review your ideas, ask any questions, and confirm we’re on the same page before I start painting.
4. I build and paint your 1-of-1 hoop.
5. Once it’s done, I’ll send you final pictures before it ships.

In the email, include:

1. Name on the hoop (if any):
   – Example: “JACKSON”, “COACH J”, “MAMBA MENTALITY”, etc.
2. Number (if any):
   – Jersey number or year (e.g., 8, 24, 23, 2024).
3. Theme / team / player:
   – Example: KU, Chiefs, Lakers, Mamba, college team, kids’ club team, etc.
4. Color scheme:
   – Primary colors you want (and any colors you absolutely don’t want).
5. Style:
   – Clean & simple, bold / graphic, splatter art, vintage, etc.
6. Mounting preference:
   – Over-the-door or wall-mount.
7. Name for the shipping label:
   – Who it’s for (helpful for gifts).
8. Deadline (if any):
   – Birthday, holiday, season start, team banquet, etc.
9. Inspiration photos (optional but helpful):
   – Screenshots of jerseys, logos, previous hoops I’ve done, bedrooms / game rooms, etc.

The more detail you give, the better I can dial in your design.
